Fine Grinding Resin Wheels

Resin bond fine grinding wheels for the fine grinding stations of glass straight-line edgers, double edgers and beveling machines.

Fine grinding levels the stock left by the roughing wheel and lifts edge finish — it is what decides whether polishing can produce a bright edge. Resin bond diamond wheels are the main type here: standard grades in green, red and black, a premium grade for high-speed straight-line and double edgers with a more uniform abrasive distribution, and bakelite-body wheels where heat build-up matters. Beveling machines use a dedicated beveling resin wheel with a finer grit.

Questions buyers ask about these wheels

What is the difference between the green, red and black grades?

Abrasive concentration and grit. Green is the general-purpose grade, red removes a little more stock and black is finer. All three share the same mounting dimensions, so you pick by glass thickness and target finish.

When should I use a bakelite body?

Bakelite (phenolic) bodies run cooler and wear evenly, so they suit long continuous grinding and jobs where edge consistency matters. Grits and sizes are made to order.

How do I choose the grit of a fine grinding wheel?

Standard grades run #180 to #400, and beveling resin wheels go as fine as #700. Keep a clear grit step from the roughing wheel ahead of it — that is what makes polishing easy and keeps residual marks off the edge.
